Trashy Freakin' People

I can hear Tom Petty singing "you don't have to live like a refugee" with the faint theme from Sanford and Son being played in the background. Holy Crap! This is what happens when you Hit The Big Time. If you follow the link provided in the title of this post you will find out what I mean. Celebrity has absolutely gone to their head. I think I see a little dog piled in that mess there. I was looking for Waldo too.
In all honesty this is one of the many wonders of Wood River, Illinois. The semiannual cleanup day. This is a great opportunity to pick up great deals on "new to you" furniture and appliances. Yes! No fooling with 90 Days same as cash. Pick up what you need and leave the rest. It is a pretty awesome system for sharing the wealth so to speak. It is always a lot of fun to meet the "interesting" people who shop at these sales. They always have very important questions to ask and most of the time they are offended by smartass answers. My favorite is "hey, does this work". I always reply "I don't know plug it in". I heard another great answer to the same question it was submitted by none other than Mary Scroggins herself she replied "if it doesn't work bring it back". That is great!! Con permisso I will use that one again and again.
I hope you have at least an annual event like this where you live because it brings out the best in Americans. I love "trashy people".
