American Idol

So this is what we have become. America the great and once proud nation. We will rally around our television sets while two singers compete, but we won't be outraged by terrorism.
Great, sign me up for another 35 years. I'm telling you the "can't we all just get along" thing didn't work for Rodney King either.
It seems that we all have gone just a little too far on one side or the other. Dr. James Dobson has decided to go crazy with this new political season. He is now the judge as to whether people are Christian enough. Dr. Dobson I am trying, but I am sure I would not make your list of christian enough folk either.
Rev. Al Sharpton says (essentially) that Mitt Romney does not believe in God. Now, wait a minute is that the God of Al Sharpton, Dr. Dobson or what? It may be the God that Al actually serves and that is HIM. It's not the Great I Am, it's the Great I Am Al.
What about this guy who is running around saying that God hates America because God hates Queers. Well, I am not sure about God, but he sure does. I can't even remember his name oddly enough.
I drive by a church every morning that has an old sign which says that X number of babies have been killed ytd. It is never updated because it is an old wooden sign. I am sure to someone other than me it might seem credible. It also says must God judge (name of city ommitted)? I have been there a few times and based on the number of retards and homeless I am pretty sure it might just be an ongoing judgement.
I am not one who believes that we are going to hell in a handbasket, but please select your leaders wisely. I believe that America is the greatest country on this planet, and that the American Dream is still alive. Go out and get your piece of it today, share with someone else how you did it. Encourage them to do it too. Watch America grow and reshape into a country of Have's and Have Yet To's. Everyone is capable of success. It is our responsibility as human beings to remove the fears of failure and success from our fellow human beings.
